Peninsula Time: Check In at 6 a.m., Check Out at 10 p.m., at No Charge
Your red-eye lands at 6 a.m. For most people the next nine hours are spent in the lobby, guarding luggage, waiting for a 3 p.m. check-in.
Not at a Peninsula. Every Peninsula hotel has something called Peninsula Time:
Do the math against a normal 3 p.m. check-in and noon check-out: nine hours on one end, ten on the other — 19 hours of hotel you did not pay a night for.
Two scenarios
London. You land at dawn, go straight to the room, shower, have breakfast — and you are shopping in Knightsbridge while everyone else is still checking out.
Paris. You have a late flight home to Los Angeles. The room is yours until 10 p.m.: a full last day out, back for a shower and a glass of champagne, then an unhurried ride to the airport.
The condition that trips people up
The hotel needs your arrival or departure time at least 24 hours in advance to plan the room around it. Asking at the front desk on the day rarely works.
When I book a Peninsula for a client, this goes to the hotel in the pre-arrival note, along with preferences, anniversaries and room requests. And beyond Peninsula Time, the PenClub and Virtuoso rates add breakfast for two, a hotel credit and a room upgrade — at The Peninsula London the upgrade is currently confirmed at booking, through the end of the year. The price is the same as the hotel’s website.
The Peninsula London also currently offers stay four, pay three (through December 2026), a second room at half price for families, and a London–Paris two-city benefit.
