Park Hotel Kenmare: Three Nights for the Spa, and What About Children?

Would you give a morning of a three-night break to a stone bath? If so, Park Hotel Kenmare belongs on your shortlist. It suits couples who enjoy walking and art alongside their spa time. Based on hotel information and the rates checked, I would make this a stop in its own right. I have not stayed here. For families, the deciding restriction comes early: the entire Baths area is for guests aged 16 and over.

The advertised three nights for the price of two includes daily breakfast, dinner for two on one evening and spa treatments for two. The package total and eligible dates still need checking. Start with how you want to spend the stay, then request the offer by name. A regular room quote does not establish the promotional price or its inclusions.

Start With the Stone Bath

Landscape’s Stone Bath gives you something specific to plan around. Open to the weather throughout the year, it holds water at 38°C, with the Kerry hills behind it. An original stone window frames Kenmare Bay. In the centre of the pool stands a single stone brought from the Dromgarriff rainforest.

House guests can use the Stone Bath, cold plunge, bucket shower, sauna and steam room without an additional charge or a treatment booking. The ceramic baths alongside are a paid add-on. Keep that distinction in mind when looking at photographs of the courtyard: the different bathing options do not all come with the room.

The spa is a phone-free space. For a booked treatment, the hotel recommends arriving 45 to 60 minutes early to use the bathing facilities first. Leave that interval clear rather than scheduling a walk that finishes just before your appointment.

Children under 16 can use only the 25-metre pool, during daily children’s hours of 10am to 5pm, with an adult accompanying them throughout. If the plan is for everyone to enjoy the outdoor Stone Bath together, choose another hotel. Children cannot enter, and the adults would have to rearrange their spa time.

Morning yoga is among the complimentary daily classes, but the programme changes weekly. Get the current schedule before arranging a class and treatment back to back.

Choose What You Want Outside the Window

Built in 1897 as a railway hotel, the house completed the refurbishment of its 43 guest rooms in 2025. Original antique furniture remains, restored and placed alongside contemporary works from the owners’ collection. If old houses are part of the attraction, leave some afternoon time for the room itself.

Classic Queen is about 25 square metres, with a private balcony facing gardens and woodland. It makes sense for a couple whose main plans involve walking. The bathroom has a shower but no bathtub, occupancy is limited to two, and an extra bed is not possible. Families should start with family rooms or suites.

For Kenmare Bay and the Caha ridge, book Superior Bay View directly. Confirm the outlook you want when booking; an upgrade on arrival remains subject to availability.

The promotion covers refurbished rooms and suites, so include your target room category in the package enquiry. I can pass your room and view requests to the hotel before booking. A bay view should be part of the room choice if it is central to the trip.

Art in the Corridors, Walks Beyond the Gate

The art is another reason to give the hotel time. After taking over in 2023, the current owners brought their private collection into the house. Sean Scully, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Dorothy Cross and Andy Warhol appear along corridors and other everyday routes, including the way to breakfast.

Contemporary work hangs within the historic 1897 hotel. You can look at your own pace or join the daily art tour, which also welcomes visitors who are not staying at the hotel.

Outside, Kenmare’s bars, restaurants and boutiques are two minutes away on foot. In the other direction are twelve acres of gardens, a kitchen herb garden, a croquet lawn and a resident horse. The side gate leads into Reenagross woodland, with a route down to the Kenmare River.

I like the practical freedom of that location. Dinner in town and a woodland walk can both begin on foot. Keep the rental car for trips farther afield, rather than reaching for the keys whenever you leave the house.

Keep an Evening for Landline

Landline takes its name from a Sean Scully work, and its fish and meat come from established suppliers around Kerry.

With children, reserve the 6:30pm sitting. Later sittings are adults only. Set dinner first, then fit the afternoon around it. Tea and home-baked cake are served daily at 4pm; check the weekly programme if you also want a guided woodland walk.

Falconry requires a separate advance reservation. Ask about availability and cost alongside the accommodation enquiry, without assuming it belongs to the package. A room quote does not confirm an activity place.

For a rainy afternoon, the 16-seat cinema has films to choose from. Food can be ordered from the kitchen and drinks from the bar, but those purchases should not be counted as package inclusions.

Check the Package Separately From the Room Rate

Three nights for the price of two also appears on the hotel’s standing offers page; it is not restricted to Halloween. The dedicated package description specifies two 60-minute Seabody Signature Body Massages. Confirm the treatment name and duration with the quote, then reserve the actual appointments separately.

For budgeting, the rate checked on 24 October for a Classic Queen was €1,635 including taxes for two adults sharing one room for three nights, 11–14 December. This was a regular breakfast-inclusive rate, refundable with no prepayment and free cancellation up to 14 days before arrival. The search did not return the three-for-two offer. Its cancellation terms need a separate check, and rates can change.

The advisor-only rate matched the public breakfast-inclusive rate in this check. The additional value was in the benefits. Virtuoso includes full breakfast for up to two guests per room daily and a US$100-equivalent food-and-beverage credit. The credit must be used during the stay, cannot be combined with other offers or applied to the room rate, and has no cash value if unused.

Upgrades, early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability. Whether the Virtuoso benefits can accompany the three-for-two package still needs confirmation.

Send me your dates and party size. I’ll re-price the advisor, public and promotional options and make sure the confirmation spells out breakfast, benefits, the cancellation deadline and prepayment. I can book the restaurant and spa separately; falconry availability also needs its own confirmation.

Stay rates are checked again. Event places, dining and other services require a separate enquiry unless explicitly included.

Rates are live pulls from the booking system taken on 24 October 2026, in euro, taxes included, for two adults in one Classic Queen over three nights on a refundable, non-prepaid basis, for the windows 26–29 October 2026, 11–14 December 2026 and 15–18 January 2027. Availability moves, so the quote you receive governs. The advisor rate equals the public bed-and-breakfast rate; Virtuoso amenities are separate, upgrades and early or late check-out are subject to availability, and the free-cancellation deadline has to be confirmed per booking. The price of the three-for-two package, the stay window it applies to and any booking deadline are published neither in the promotional email nor on the hotel website, as is whether it combines with the hotel’s public discounts or with the amenities; all of that has to be confirmed with the hotel. Facilities, age limits, dining hours and fees are quoted from the hotel’s own website; the 2026 Two MICHELIN Keys retention is from the MICHELIN Guide listing and trade reporting. Photography is from the hotel’s official library and is not AI generated. The author has not stayed at this hotel; the judgements here rest on hotel and official sources and on this rate check.
