Excelsior Vittoria: November Rooms and Dinner
Hotel research & rate notes · Not a firsthand stay review
For a stay built around Sorrento, a historic hotel and a special dinner, start by checking 10–13 November 2026 at Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria. The Indian guest-chef dinner falls on 12 November, and a garden junior suite priced well below the same category the following June. The trade-offs are rain, short days and cancellation terms that need written clarification before payment.

Three decisions to make first
- For the dinner and the hotel: check rooms for 10–13 November, then enquire separately about dinner places and pricing.
- For a sea view from your room: book the view itself; a possible upgrade from a garden room cannot guarantee it.
- For beaches, pools and a full Amalfi Coast itinerary: consider late spring. November offers a different kind of trip.
November and June: Comparing Seasons
On 7 October 2026, the same Junior Suite Garden View returned €3,459 for 10–13 November 2026 and €7,633 for 15–18 June 2027. Both quotes covered one room, two adults and three nights, including taxes. The difference is the stay date. These are historical quote snapshots, not a same-date channel discount or a price held for a new booking.
The cancellation wording needs clarification before either figure becomes a booking decision. The material gives both 14 and 21 days before arrival for free cancellation, alongside non-refundable deposit language. Ask the hotel to confirm the deadline, deposit charge dates and whether non-refundable terms cover the whole booking. The public “stay for three, pay for two” offer on a double room with a sea-view balcony, and the flash-sale offer, are non-refundable; do not apply the free-cancellation wording to those promotions.
That search also returned an entry garden-view room for November, but not June. A separate 11–15 November search returned no availability, while 10–13 November returned rates. This describes those search results only. It does not establish that the entire hotel is sold out on any individual night. Recheck the full date range before adding the weekend after dinner.

Book the Dinner Separately from the Room
The hotel’s 6 October newsletter announced India in the heart of Sorrento for 12 November 2026. The guest is Chef Madhab, Master Chef at 1911, The Imperial New Delhi, preparing a five-course tasting menu drawn from regional Indian cooking. The hotel’s own Terrazza Bosquet holds one Michelin star in the 2026 Italian guide.
The newsletter did not publish the price per person, wine pairing, access for non-residents or booking deadline. A room reservation does not secure a dinner place. If the evening is the reason for travelling, settle those questions before choosing a room rate with restrictive cancellation terms.
Choose a Garden, a Sea View or a Named Suite
Founded in 1834, the hotel remains with the Fiorentino family: the fifth generation leads it and the sixth is involved. Piazza Tasso 34 is in central Sorrento, with five acres of olive and citrus gardens between the gate and the hotel. The cliff faces the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius; a private lift from the main terrace descends to Marina Piccola. This layout suits a trip that combines town walks with time at the hotel.

Decide on the view and balcony before choosing a suite for its history. Published accounts say Enrico Caruso stayed for over a month in 1921, the year he died in Naples, and that his piano remains in the Caruso suite. The Margaret suite hosted Princess Margaret in 1948. There are also the Pompeian-style Pompeii suite and the newer Lucio Dalla suite. The story of Emperor Augustus’s villa beneath the site remains a legend.
The garden junior suite quote does not cover one of those named suites or a guaranteed sea view. If the sea is essential, compare the actual sea-view category and its terms.

What the Advisor Rate Added on These Dates
For the checked dates and categories, the advisor rate matched the public breakfast-inclusive rate. Virtuoso benefits typically include daily breakfast for two, with an upgrade, early check-in and late check-out subject to availability. Compare the same room and cancellation conditions when weighing that rate against a public promotion.
The confirmation should identify the booked view, breakfast and applicable benefits. A possible upgrade should remain separate from the room category you have paid for.

Leave Room for November Weather
November is rainy, with sunset around 16:40. Many coastal hotels and restaurants close until Easter. Capri sailings are less frequent and may be cancelled in heavy seas; the private lift makes reaching the port easier, but cannot guarantee a boat. Late spring is a better starting point for an itinerary focused on Positano and Amalfi.
Sorrento remains a working town. Bosquet serves indoors in the colder season, poolside L’Orangerie operates from April to October, and the Vittoria restaurant has an original frescoed ceiling. Plan around the town, gardens and dining rooms if you choose November.

Turn the Dates into a Booking
Recheck the room for your dates and party size, then settle the view, balcony, cancellation deadline and deposit terms. For the dinner, send Jay the date, number of guests, whether you are staying at the hotel and whether you want a wine pairing. Room searches do not hold dinner places.

Rates are live pulls from the booking system taken on 7 October 2026, quoted in euros as totals including taxes, on a basis of one room, two adults, three nights: the low-season set is 10–13 November 2026 and the high-season reference set is 15–18 June 2027. The two sets match on room type, nights, occupancy and tax basis and differ only in dates, so this is a seasonal comparison rather than a same-date quote. The “stay for three, pay for two” and flash-sale rates are public, non-refundable promotions open to anyone and are not advisor-only. The advisor rate and the public breakfast-inclusive rate are the same price; amenities sit on top, and upgrade, early check-in and late check-out all depend on availability on the day. The cancellation and deposit terms differ between two sources and are subject to the hotel’s written confirmation. Dinner details come from the hotel’s own newsletter of 6 October 2026; price per person, wine pairing, non-resident access and booking deadline are unpublished. Michelin status, winter closing dates, weather and Pompeii winter hours were checked against public sources as of October 2026. Photographs are the hotel’s official images.
